Cute space for coffee
As the heat peaks in the early afternoon, recess into the breezy sycamore-canopied street of Da Xue Lu (大学路). Along this rue are a few cafes of shabby chic nature, but the crudely painted brown stone one located across the street from the art gallery is the oasis to take pause. China’s culture of tea is quickly embracing the art of coffee making and this hobbit-esque abode prepares every cup the way the bean asks to be brewed.
The interiors are almost as wacky as a room in Salvador Dali’s estate, but there’s a lady’s touch and artist’s intention to everything in sight. Perhaps there’s more in Qingdao to see than just this little place, but in China one relishes a space where ones thoughts feel free to roam.
Coffee Space (咖啡空间) is a perfect place to escape and regain inspiration.
