Chengdu; Starting the day early
Waking up at Chengdu Mix Hostel
Chengdu, Sichuan, CHINA — I woke up at 5:30am to the sound of other backpackers scurrying about, feet slamming down loose floor boards, voices audible against nothing else in the still morning. Thinking my complimentary breakfast starts at 6:30am I rise with additional hopes of finding more bandwidth to stay in touch with the outside world. Internet is still slow; it is never as good as internet in Beijing or Shanghai. Everyone totes laptops these days and connections can’t serve the ever increasing number of bloggers, photo shares, and emails to loved ones.
Today, I meet the Yang family.
